Sample Formats for Group Events |
Scramble: Each player in the foursome will tee off. The best shot of the four is then selected and all players will move their ball to this location. All four players will then hit their second shot from this position. This format continues until the ball is holed. Only one team score is recorded on the scorecard.
Best Ball: Each player plays their own ball throughout the entire hole. The best score of the group is the single score recorded for the team.
Alternate Shot: Typically played as a two-person team. Players decide before the match who will tee off the #1 tee. Once the first player has hit off #1, the second player will hit the second shot on that hole. They will continue alternating each shot until the end of the round. Modified Alternate Shot: Players decide before the match who will tee off the #1 tee and all subsequent odd-numbered holes. The second player will tee off the #2 tee and all even-numbered holes throughout the match.
Individual Stroke Play: Each player plays their own ball and records their own score throughout the entire match.
